High freeboard and a 10-foot beam, plus the stable quick-planing characteristics of the Chaparral's patented Extended V-Plane running surface deliver a quality ride you would expect from a much larger cruiser. Ideally proportioned upon a 10-foot beam, the 290 provides ample room in the cockpit, as well as down below.
TOPSIDES
Topsides seating package includes U-shaped seating aft with double-legged removable dinette table, also converting to a convenient sun lounge. A luxuriously contoured companion seat is set forward and to port of the helm, with a handy cockpit wet bar (with cooler below) tucked aft of the seat. At the helm, dual flip-up bolsters allow the captain and mate to position for cruising comfort.
A portside transom walk-out leads to the large extended swim platform, also offering easy access to the huge transom storage trunk (lockable). Foredeck access is via molded fiberglass steps, leading out to the padded sunning area.
DOWN BELOW
Enter the cabin through a solid white sliding lexan hatchway. The hatchway also includes a hide-away sliding screen door.
The plushly appointed cabin accommodations include a portside crescent dinette and a unique forward lounge with dinette serving table, also converting to a large v-berth. This dual-dinette layout will allow you to seat eight or nine easily, while providing convertible convenience for overnight guests. Dinette fabrics are soft Ultraleather and tabletops are richly lacquered cherry, highlighted by cherry cabinetry throughout.
The mid-cabin will easily sleep two, tucked below the helm area.
Galley and head are set to starboard, with the galley featuring solid surface countertops, sovereign cherry cabinetry and sturdy hardware.
